Understanding the POS Layout: Line Items, Payments, Totals, and Actions

The POS screen is organized into four functional areas:

  1. Line Items — The grid where scanned or manually added products appear. Each row shows the item description, quantity, price, and subtotal. You can delete items or change quantities here.
  2. Payments — Lists all payments applied to the current transaction. You can void individual payments from here before the transaction is complete.
  3. Totals — Shows the running calculation including subtotal, tax, total payment applied, and the remaining amount due. If Dual Pricing is enabled, both cash discount and base prices are displayed.
  4. Actions — Buttons for special operations including Apply Discount, Change Quantity, Tax Exempt, Rent Payment, Sell Gift Card, Save for Later, Saved Transactions, and Layaway.
