Understanding Store Closeout

Learn how to understand and make use of Syncrostore's store closeout feature

 

What is a Store Closeout?

Syncrostore provides you with the ability to consolidate cash drawer closeouts into one process known as a Store Closeout.

This option is disabled by default, and only intended for stores with several registers. This option can be enabled by navigating to Admin Tools -> Preferences -> POS Hardware, and checking Store Closeouts. 

As an administrator or manager you have the option to set a threshold to receive variance notifications in the same POS Hardware page where closeouts can be enabled.

What does the process look like?

A Store Closeout, when enabled, will automatically begin once the last drawer is closed in a store.

  1. Once the last drawer is counted and closed, the store closeout popup will appear on the POS 
  2. The popup requires the user performing the closeout to enter the total cash counted, by denomination, across all drawers.
  3. The popup additionally allows selection of drawer closes from the last 24 hours. This is in case a previous drawer is missed in a closeout, and to show what drawers have been closed recently. You have the ability to select and deselect recent closes to be included in the current closeout.
  4. Once all cash has been entered, the total variance across all drawers will be displayed. This allows you to know the difference in cash expected and cash counted throughout the entire store. This is completely separate from individual drawer closes, and is computed based on the denominations just entered.
  5. The user can then select an Administrator or Manager to notify if the cash counted varies from the expected by more than the amount set in Preferences.
  6. If the variance exceeds the amount (either over or under) set, the Administrator or Manager will receive an email with all relevant information of the close, including who performed the close and cash counted by denomination.
  7. A receipt will then print showing all relevant information, and the close is completed. All drawers selected will be marked as included in this closeout
