Saved Discounts in Point of Sale

Overview

Syncrostore allows administrators to create reusable saved discounts inside Point of Sale. These discounts can then be used by cashiers during transactions without needing to manually enter discount values each time.

Saved discounts support:

• Percentage discounts
• Fixed dollar amount discounts
• Store absorbed discounts for vendor payouts

This feature works with both manual items and inventory items.

Creating a Saved Discount

Step 1: Open Point of Sale

1. Navigate to Point of Sale
2. Add items to the transaction
3. Add a customer if desired

Step 2: Open Saved Discounts

Click:

Saved Discounts

You will see any discounts already created for the store.

Step 3: Create a New Discount

Only Administrators can create new saved discounts. Cashiers can use saved discounts but cannot create or modify them.

To create a discount:

1. Click Create New Saved Discount
2. Enter a discount name
   • Example: Mother’s Day Discount
3. Choose:
   • Percentage discount
   • Fixed dollar amount discount
4. Enter the discount value

Example:

• 15% Off

1. Click Save

The saved discount is now available for all authorized cashiers to use.

Applying a Saved Discount

Once a discount has been created:

1. Open the transaction in POS
2. Click Saved Discounts
3. Select the desired discount

The discount will immediately apply to the transaction total.

Store Absorbs Discount Feature

Stores using Consignment Pro can optionally enable:

Store Absorbs This Discount

When enabled:

• Vendors are paid the full item amount
• The store owner absorbs the discount cost
• Vendor payouts are not reduced by promotional discounts

This is especially useful for:

• Holiday promotions
• Store-wide sales
• Customer loyalty promotions
• Marketing campaigns

Example

A vendor item is listed for $10.00.

A 15% discount is applied with:

• Store Absorbs This Discount enabled

Result:

• Customer pays discounted price
• Vendor still receives payout based on the full $10.00 sale amount
• Store owner absorbs the discount difference

Viewing Store Absorbed Discounts

After the sale:

1. Navigate to Rent
2. Locate the vendor
3. Open the vendor ledger or balance view

Transactions using store absorbed discounts will display accordingly in the vendor activity.

Important Notes

• Saved discounts are shared across authorized POS users
• Cashiers can use saved discounts created by administrators
• Only administrators can create or edit discounts
• Store absorbed discounts are available for Consignment Pro stores
