How to Create and Manage Custom Local Categories and Subcategories

When adding or editing an item, you can create custom categories and subcategories directly from the Item Details tab:

To Create a Category: Type the name of the category you want to create into the Local Category field. If it doesn't exist, the system will create it.

To Create a Subcategory:

  1. First, select the parent category for your item.
  2. Type the name of the subcategory you want to create in the Local Subcategory field.

Important Notes:

  • Categories and subcategories are shared across the store. Other vendors and store owners can see and use them.
  • Your administrator may not permit you to create your own categories. In that case, follow your store policy and select only from the categories provided by the owner.
  • Subcategories are created under the specific category you selected — they won't appear under other categories.
