How do I update prices or quantities for many items at once?

Export, edit and re-import a bulk update file to change many items together.

Use the bulk price / quantity update: export a bulk update file, change the prices, quantities or categories in a spreadsheet, and upload it again. For one or two items, change the quantity right in the Inventory table instead.

Who this is for: Vendors and store staff.

These steps use the New Experience. If your menu looks different, click Switch to New Vendor Experience (vendors) or Switch to New Experience (store staff) at the top of the page.

Quick changes without a spreadsheet

On the Inventory page, click − or + in the Qty column, or type a number. It saves straight away. For variants, expand the item and change each variant's quantity. To change a price, use the row menu ⋯ > Edit item.

Open the bulk update page

  • Vendors: Inventory > More (⋮) > Bulk price / quantity update.
  • Store staff: Inventory > Bulk price / quantity.

This opens the classic bulk update page. The steps below use its labels.

Step 1: Export the bulk update file

The bulk update page only uploads; download the file from the Inventory page. Click Export ▾ and, under For bulk update, choose Bulk update (.xlsx) or Bulk update (.csv). (On the classic page, More (⋮) > Classic view, it's Export for Bulk Update > Export as Excel / Export as CSV.) The plain CSV and Excel (.xlsx) choices give the import template format, not the bulk update file. If items are ticked or the list is filtered, only those items are exported.

The columns

Column Editable? Purpose
Item ID No Matches the row to the right item. Do not change.
Variant ID No Matches the row to the right variant. Do not change.
SKU Reference only Helps you find the item. Not used for matching.
UPC Reference only Helps you find the item. Not used for matching.
Description Reference only Helps you find the item.
Category Yes Updates the item's category.
Subcategory Yes Updates the item's subcategory.
Price Yes Updates the item's price.
Quantity Yes Updates the quantity on hand.

Only items assigned to you as a vendor can be updated. Rows for items that aren't yours are ignored.

Step 2: Edit the file

  1. Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets or similar.
  2. Use SKU, UPC or Description to find the items you want to change.
  3. Edit Category, Subcategory, Price and/or Quantity. Change one row or every row.
  4. Save the file as CSV.

Step 3: Upload the edited file

  1. On the bulk update page, click Browse and upload your CSV.
  2. Go to Map Columns. Category, Subcategory, Price, Quantity, Item ID and Variant ID map automatically. (SKU, UPC and Description aren't mapped.)
  3. Click Next to preview the changes. You can make more edits here.
  4. Click Save Edits.
  5. Click Apply Changes, then OK to confirm.

When it finishes, you'll see how many items were updated.

Troubleshooting

  • Some rows didn't update: check the Item ID and Variant ID weren't changed, and that the items belong to you.
  • The upload fails: save the file as CSV and make sure Price and Quantity contain numbers only.
