Do I have to Include Dual Pricing on my Labels?

Explanation of the Dual Pricing Print Option in Syncrostore

It depends!

If your store uses dual pricing:

Yes, not including the Dual Pricing information would be a violation of dual pricing regulations. It would no longer be considered a cash discount / dual pricing display model at that point.

If you only show one price and then add a fee at checkout for card users, that becomes a surcharge model instead. Those have different card brand rules and state-level compliance requirements, and some states restrict or regulate them differently.

With dual pricing/cash discounting, the cash price is the advertised price and the card price is disclosed up front before the transaction occurs. That’s why the labels display both prices.

Most stores either:
  • Print both prices directly on labels
  • Or use signage throughout the store explaining the pricing structure if transitioning older inventory
The system is designed around the compliant dual-pricing model rather than adding hidden fees at checkout.

If your store is not on Dual Pricing:
No. In fact, you should NOT include the dual pricing on a label if your store is off dual pricing, leaving it on would be an inaccurate representation of the price of your item.
