How do I see the details and items of a past sale?

Open a transaction to see its customer, line items, payments and return status.

In Sales > Transactions, press View on the sale for a quick look at what was sold and how it was paid; press Open transaction in that drawer for the full Transaction Details page.

Who this is for: Cashier, Store admin

These steps use the New Experience. If your menu looks different, click Switch to New Experience at the top of the page.

Steps

  1. Go to Sales > Transactions and find the sale (see How do I find a past sale or transaction?).
  2. Press View on the row. The drawer shows:
    • What was sold - the items, grouped by vendor.
    • How it was paid - each payment type, plus Tip and Change given when there are any.
    • Cashier, Customer, and Refund for # if the sale is a refund.
  3. For everything else, press Open transaction. The classic Transaction Details page opens with:
    • General Information - customer, return status, transaction date.
    • Tender Information - payment types used, subtotal, gratuity.
    • CC Information - card response details (if paid by card).
    • System Information - cashier name and edit history.
    • The Line Items grid at the bottom, with each item, quantity and subtotal.

Things to know

  • Voids, returns and receipt reprints are done from the full Transaction Details page.
  • Make sure the correct terminal is selected at the top of Transaction Details before processing any return from that page.
