Why did two months of rent come out of one settlement? (Vendors)
Why rent dates and the settlement cutoff date can put two rent charges in one check.
Usually you weren't charged twice: rent is dated when your store posts it, but a settlement includes everything up to its cutoff date, so if one month's rent landed just after the last cutoff, it and the next month's rent both fall into the next settlement.
Who this is for
- Vendors who see two rent charges on one settlement.
- Store admins answering this question for a vendor.
These steps use the New Experience. If your menu looks different, click Switch to New Vendor Experience at the top of the page.
Why it happens
Your account is one continuous running balance; there is no separate "August account." Each settlement takes a snapshot at its cutoff date and time.
Example:
| Date | Entry | Lands in |
|---|---|---|
| Jul 31, 9:00 AM | July settlement cutoff | - |
| Aug 1 | August rent posted | next settlement (after the July cutoff) |
| Sep 1 | September rent posted | next settlement |
| Sep 1, 8:00 PM | August settlement cutoff | includes both August and September rent |
Both charges are real, one per month. It just looks doubled because they were paid from the same check.
How to check
- Open Money > Payouts & invoices. On the Payouts tab, click the Payout # to open the settlement details page, and expand Rent, Fees & Adjustments. Note the date on each rent charge.

- Open Money > Account activity (or View account activity on the Current Balance card on Home). Click the Rent, fees & adjustments tab to see each monthly rent charge, then All activity to see the payouts around them.
- If each month's rent appears once, nothing was double charged. If the same month appears twice, contact your store.
Troubleshooting
- The same month really was charged twice: Your store sets and charges rent, not Syncrostore. Ask your store to review it. Past causes include a duplicate booth space assigned to you. The store can correct it with a credit, which is paid on your next settlement.
- The rent amount is higher than you agreed: Your store sets rent rates. Contact your store.
- You prepaid rent or paid outside Syncrostore (cash, Zelle): Ask your store to record the payment or credit on your account.
- A partial "base rent" charge: That is usually prorated rent for a partial month.
For store admins
- Rent must be charged before the settlement cutoff to be included. If you post rent (Money > Rent & fees > Charge rent) dated after the cutoff, it falls into the next settlement. The cutoff is the Include activity up to date on Money > Settlements > Pay vendors.
- Apply all rent, credits and debits before generating settlements. If a settlement was generated before rent was run, see Can I undo or re-run a vendor settlement?
