Use + Manual Item when you need to charge for something that has no inventory record: a repair, a custom order, a delivery fee, a one-off item.
The button is in the right rail, in blue, next to Other Payment Methods.
The Manual Item Window

Every field selects itself when you tab or click into it, so you can type straight over the pre-filled values.
The vendor rule
On Consignment Pro plans, a vendor is required. The Vendor ID box appears with a dropdown of your vendors; start typing an ID, alias, name or business name to filter it. If you leave it blank you'll see "A vendor is required." and nothing is added.
On other plans the field doesn't appear at all and the sale is recorded to the store.
Because the box accepts free text, you can type a vendor ID that doesn't exist — you'll get "Vendor 123 does not exist for this store." when you save.
Custom tax
Leave the tax dropdown on "Default tax" and the line is taxed at your store's normal rate. Pick one of your configured custom rates — shown as "Prepared Food (2.5%)" — to override it for this line only.
Custom rates are set up under Admin Tools / Preferences.
Saving
Two buttons:
- Save — adds the item and closes the window.
- Save & Add New — adds the item and keeps the window open, resetting the form so you can add another. Use this when you're entering several manual lines in a row.
Pressing Enter in Description, Quantity or Price does the same as Save & Add New.
Clicking outside the window will not close it — that's deliberate, so a stray tap doesn't discard what you've typed. Use the × if you want to abandon it.
